Start with the place
A wedding in Italy usually begins with a place people have travelled for: a villa above a lake, a farmhouse in the olive groves, a terrace over the sea. That place is the most natural subject for the artwork. A photograph of the façade, the view or a detail you love is enough for the studio to begin drawing.
Small Italian details work beautifully at matchbox scale: a lemon, a bridge, a bell tower, a Vespa, a line of cypress trees. Choose one or two rather than a whole itinerary, so each box still reads clearly from across the table.
Settle the wording in both languages
Many couples mix English and Italian: names and a date in one, a short phrase in the other. Send the wording exactly as it should read, including accents, and check it carefully on the digital proof. The studio sends a proof before anything is printed, and revisions are unlimited until you approve.
Plan the delivery before you pay
Commissions are drawn and made in London and dispatched with tracked delivery by DHL, UPS or FedEx. For Italy, standard customs clearance charges are included in the price, so there is nothing extra to pay when the parcel arrives.
Decide early where the boxes should go. Some couples receive them at home and pack them in their luggage; others send them straight to the venue or their planner. Share the address, a contact name and your date in the brief, and the studio will confirm the dispatch window before production begins.
Let a few pieces carry the story
You do not need every paper element to travel. Matchboxes, place cards and napkins carry the most weight on the table, because guests touch them and often take them home. If you are also planning a full suite, the studio can draw the invitation, menus and table details around the same artwork.
