Why matchboxes suit December
It is the month of candles, fires and long tables. A matchbox is useful on the night and small enough to be kept afterwards, which makes it an easy gift to give in numbers: at each place setting, in a hotel room, in a client parcel or on a restaurant bar.
Ideas for the artwork
Draw the house, the restaurant or the building your guests will recognise. Add a seasonal detail rather than a full scene: a wreath on the door, a sprig of holly, snow on the roofline. For a business, a monogram or a drawing of the premises carries the brand without reading as advertising.
Plan before the rush
Every commission goes through artwork, a digital proof and your approval before production, and courier networks are busy in December. For delivery before Christmas, place your order by 1 December, with the date you need the boxes in hand. For a closer date, ask about a rush order first, or give a gift card, which is ready the moment you pay.
Choosing the quantity
Count the places where one will be picked up: settings at a dinner, rooms in a hotel, parcels to clients. Packages start at 25 matchboxes, and for larger or unusual quantities you can ask the studio for a quote.
